Hellomoto - USB driver ERROR...!!!!!!

After following the instructions for installing and unlocking a a835 the hellomoto s/w states that 'motorola USB devices not found'

A quick check of device manager shows that Motorola Flash Interface driver is not working with the following error :-

"The NTKERN.VXD device loader(s) for this device could not load the device driver. (Code 2)

Updating the driver does nothing. I am running win98SE on a toshiba laptop. I i purchased this s/w a couple of days ago.

Can one of you Einsteins shed some light on this 'mystery' over to u...

You have win98 problem here. reinstall your windows, or use WinMe or XP.

Cool Solution

thx 4 the replies....

Some research has uncovered the following if it maybe of use to anyone:-

Solution? Run sfc to extract NTKERN.VXD from the Windows 98 Second Edition disc into c:\windows\system and c:\windows\system\vmm32, and reboot. That's it.

I think it's not so hard activity "to care you don't kill your phones", so i suggest adding V80, E1000 and even "DCT4 direct imei write" to model list in logger and start to care about these phones health too

So they put it in there and decided to make sure it's okay before they mess up everyone's phones... I think that's pretty nice of them.

The other phones that are supported work great and the software is the best solution for the price. Enjoy what you have....

Remember when you complained that motorola codes took too long to come back on the server!?

Maybe you didn't noticed - it says "sorry, testing" WITHOUT TRYING TO CONNECT TO SERVER - no support in logger implemented ! So you are wrong - they put there just empy words, advertisement of some future product, which's existense nobody can proof now. I think such moves doesn't add respect to it's authors, if everybody will start to work such way then soon we'll have servers with 1 supported/10 "being tested" models around. Remember ByeMoto ? I hope Mr.Rfon will fix this situation as soon as possible and we'll have this promised feature available finally

STILL - Driver error

I have installed XP as suggest by Mr Legija... oh by the way the post I put about a potential solution on win98se didn't work for me, maybe someone else can check it.

Anyway I now get the following error when I try to add the driver (USB cable is connected to A835) :-

"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"

Can someone tell me what the **** is going on here. This is starting to do my head in....

Did you try the drivers that are included with the instaler? Make sure to disconnect all devices, remove all drivers, then let it detect. Then point it to those drivers.

You are connecting it in bootloader mode, right? It uses different drivers for that...

If everything is still the same and you can afford to format your HDD, (if its worth it) then go ahead and format, after formatting, put your phone in bootloader mode by preeing and holding * and # keys and pressing power button, you ll be prompted for driver, refer to the p2k folder in the installer folder and thats it..
