i tried with pk2 tool 5.3, but it says motorola needs to be TP first.

Do I need a Smart-Clip in order to do the Test Point? I tried to use Smart Moto it asked me to hook my phone to Smart-Clip.....

What service box do you have?
First you have to specify what is the original boot version of your V3i.
If it has boot A.30, then you can unlock it using SC's 'Prepare' function avoiding testpoint connection.

Unlocking without testpoint is good only if you can make it work on first try but you'll end up using testpoint when you fail. If you have a good hand in hardware I suggest the testpoint method (p2k easy tool or smart clip will work fine). But if you're more convenient in software then do the unlocking without testpoint (prepare phone in case of smart clip) but be prepared for the consequence.

Youre Right Mate! Doing Moto using TP is the Best Procedure than "Prepare".
