Some unlockers can unlock without TP - GSM-Forum

There are a few unlock companies that can unlock phones that are on certain providers. Bongo Wireless is one of them (rogers and fido only). Anyone know how they are able to do this?

Are there any other unlockers who do the same for other SPs? I figure that eventually we'll figure out a way to crack em without TP.

Unlock codes are sometimes available from the service provider

they have contacts within the provider company and they provide them with unlock codes which are stored in DB or retrieved via the provider at the factory..

Yes and this way to unlock is not cheap at all!
