i have a v600 and a p2k lead.

now how do i get the pictures off the phone onto the PC?

What software do i need

You need mobile phone tools, latest version... or if you have bluetooth, you should be able to just enable, and have your pc browse the phone.

Mobile phone tools is commercial, but may be found by searching around on the net.
