    Driver problem.

    Here is USB Drivers installation procedure for Locosto USB based models :

    * Run "Motorola Driver Installer.exe" from "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Motorola Shared\MotPCSDrivers\" dir
    * Select "Clean only" and press start, wait untill its finished then close the software,
    * Open Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs and uninstall Motorola Drivers
    * Open Rocker Dongle Support, and navigate to ".. / .. / RockerDongle / Drivers / W156i_W160_W175_W180_USB_Drivers / dir.
    * Download and install "Motorola.9.0.msi"
    * Restart PC
    * Connect above mentioned Motorola model with mini USB cable to pc, with battery removed
    * Insert battery, windows will detect "LOCOSTO" device and install drivers
    * Remove and insert battery again, and check in device manager for "Motorola Flash" device.

    If You have done everything as described, You will have installed drivers correctly. Take note, these models will remain in flash mode for only 5 seconds, if no comunication started, phone will go to charging mode.

    Cannot Install drivers for LOCOSTO

    Hi,

    My problem starts before I try to run the program. I simply cannot get the drivers for the Motorola W180 properly installed.

    I followed every step in the Readme.txt file. First ran "Motorola Driver Installer.exe" and selected "Clean only" exactly as instructed. Then I uninstalled "Motorola Drivers" from the control panel. Later installed "Motorola.9.0.msi" and finally restarted the PC.

    So far so good ...

    After completing these steps I connected a W180 with a mini-USB cable, installed the battery and Windows XP detected "LOCOSTO" device and briefly shown "Motorola Flash".

    At this point I ran out of luck. Instead of installing LOCOSTO drivers Windows tries to install W180 Mobile device and, after a while, reports it can't be done.

    Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

    Thak you very much for any help

    You aren't doing anything incorrect with the drivers, but for the phone to remain in flash mode and not toggle to USB charge/data mode there needs to be a flash program running. It is just like an older ODM phone with a T191 serial interface, the phone will only go into flash mode if a flasher is talking to it when it hits the bootcore.

    What you do:

    1. Plug in USB cable without battery
    2. Launch flashing utility that supports device
    3. When the flashing utility is searching for a phone insert the battery

    Even flashers/unlockers that don't support the 175G version will still make the phone stick in flash mode.

    The phone will now stay in flash mode until it is disconnected.
