OFCOURSE ITS NOT THE SAME firmware,dont make the mistake or you,ll get a dead fone.

One of the main differences between the LG u880 and the u890 is what network bands the chipset will tune into.

The u880 is a Quad band phone, it can tune into

UMTS 2100 MMhz
GSM 1900 MHz
GSM 1800 MHz (GPRS, but no Edge

)
GSM 900 MHz

whereas the u890 is only a Triband phone:

UMTS 2100 MHz
GSM 1800 (GPRS but no Edge

)
GSM 900

Please i have flashated my u890, whith the firmware for u890, but when finish, answere whith DOWLOADING COMPLETE, but the phone is stop in YELLOW write "UNAVAILABLE MEDIA FILE.
i have put in BOOT MODE, 2+5+power, but when connect to program, is in EMERGENCY MODE. please help to me to restore my u890, is 200 euro of phone.

u have to search for media file compatible with the country your pone came from. it's like the problem of u880 i guess. hope you'll manage it

if i have a u890 firmware working with 2g simcards then i will work on it and maybe i will have a good sol. A firmware working with 3g simcards only is not a good stuff
