Hi, I'm a newbie on Symbian platforms; nevertheless I've been reading a lot in many sites out there trying to understand new security issues implemented by them to supposedly avoid piracy.

Some days ago I bought a software for my N95 which was "tailored" for my own specific device, according to its particular IMEI.

Now I was wondering if installing that software into a different phone is possible by cracking somehow the IMEI protection. I already tried genialSIS_11 to unsign it and then some different procedures to resign it for my new device's IMEI but although it could be successfuly installed in my new phone, It does'nt work at all. Maybe in the process of de-signing it with genialSIS something was changed besides the signature protection.

Can somebody please give me any idea on how could it be done it?
