Red face SHARP GX-15 questions

Hi All!

I bought a GX-15 in Portugal (from Vodafone). And I can't upload to my mobile jar and/or jad files. How can I do it? And how can I erase the 'Live!' menu from it???

Please answer! Many thanks!

There is no way (besides WAP) to upload games, etc.
And you can't erase the "Live" menu.

I think if the firmware is flashed it is possible to get rid of the vodafone s.h.i.t.t.y. menus

I am trying with my GX15...

Will put a small webpage saying how etc etc after I do it on:

http://i.don-t.servebeer.com/sharpgx15

At the moment there are just the files present...

I just hope it works

@goci: The problem is that you need a flash-file with non Vodafone stuff.
I don't know such a file for GX15.

The only way to unlock the "live buton" is editing the WAP.options

I am almost sure that this flash file (A24-007-0213-GX15U.MOT) is vodafone-free.

What is needed to flash this phone? I have the following items I am sharing.

-Sharp Product Support Tool Software (v1.3)
-The GX15 Upgrading tool
-Flash file (A24-007-0213-GX15U.MOT) which I think is vodafone-crap free

Can be downloaded from http://i.don-t.servebeer.com/sharpgx15

Of course a data cable is needed to flash the firmware.
Now... I heard that a data charging cable (i.e. a data cable that charges the mobile at the same time) is needed to complete this operation. Is that cable necessary or is it possible to do it by a common USB Data Cable?

Is there anyone who has succeded in flashing this mobile and knows something regarding the cable?
Please contribute to this post if you can help.

Regards,
goci

I don't know if you need a charging cable.
But if yes, no problem:
You can modify a normal USB-cable to work as charging cable.
Just connect pin 2 (data +) and pin 4 (charger +).
I did this on my cable and now it charges when it's connect to the PC ;-)

Ok... we got the software to flash this thing...
I still haven't got a clear illustration of the USB to GX15 data & charging cable connections...

The cable should be able to transfer data and charge the mobile at the same time. Anyone has got a good illustration please?

Finally I have managed to flash the phone with the following 3 firmwares:
-A02-007-0185-GX15.MOT
-A02-007-0186-GX15.MOT
-A24-007-0213-GX15U.MOT
ALL OF THESE 3 ARE VODAFONE FIRMWARES! (doh'!)

To flash it, the following things are needed:

-The GX15 Upgrading Tool
-USB Data Cable with charging function
-A .MOT Firmware File
-And the servicing manual for instructions if needed

How it is done?

-Install The GX15 Upgrading Tool Software and the GX15 Upgrading Tool USB Driver for the USB data cable.
-Switch off phone, remove battery and SIM Card
-Connect it via USB
-Run The Upgrading Tool and choose the location of the .MOT firmware file
-Tick the Port used by the system for USB. Tick Program Download and File System Initialize.
-Click Start Loading Flash

For other technical info you may have a look at the Sharp GX15 Servicing Manual

NOW... Anyone who finds flash files for this mobile other than the 3 mentioned above and posts their location will be greatly appreciated.

Hi to all!

I read a lot of threads about how to unlock Sharp gx25. I have USB cable, I have thia AllSharp program, but don't have drivers to instal USB cable for GX 15. Does anyone know where can I get those drivers or. how can I install it?

Thanks in advance for any help.
