help with sagem code reader assembly

hi

i have assembled the sagem code reader with one atmega16-16PI that is the same 16L but with different characteristics, the problem is in the forums i have read that is necessary to program the atmel with the 18605508.bin flash and the atmel isp programmer.
Well, the thing is that i have seen in the web the way to repair broken dongles with sagemreader10.1.flash.bin and like programmer two db25 paralel conectors and a few cables, i have seen the two bin files have the same size, then i think is not necessary to make the isp programmer with alectronic components because is more easy the cables with two parallel conectors.
Right, i did it , i programme the atmel with ponyprog, select the sagemreader10.1.flash.bin and in the bits configuration lock1, lock2, bootsz1, bootsz0, bootrst and cksel2 like says the repair manual, ok the atmel is programmed successfully, then i go to sagemswitcher, select v10 press execute and says device not found, i accept and open the sw v10 windows but not run the update bar, close the window and goes again to sagem switcher, select v12, press execute and says device not found, 4 times i accept and then opens v12 window.
I don't know what is wrong because in the repair manual says when i execute v10 and v12 in the sagemswitcher the aplication is opened and the update bar goes up, but for me no.
I don't know if the flash is the correct, if the bits configuration is good, if is necessary to make the isp programmer etc.
Can anybody helps me with this?
thanks

I guess U used Sagem Switcher with special connector
After U used pony program, pls unplug that special connector and direct connect ur Sagem code reader to pc's LPT
Then U can use Sagem Switcher normaly
Good luck!!!!

first thanks for your answer, second i have not luck, device not found.
I give you some parameters: my atmega is 40 pins, i have not assembled the phone cable ( i think is not important for dongle detection), i use for program the atmel the lines miso, mosi, sck and reset ( i think this is well because the atmel is programmed without problem), i use 3.68 Mhz cristal.
My questions: i use for programming the atmel, the parallel-parallel cable, is necessary to program the atmel with the isp programmer?
i program the atmel with the file sagemreader10.1.flash.bin, is this good or is necessary to program it with the 18605508.bin file?
i have compared both bin files and they seems to be the same.
the method i use is from the repair manual but this sagem reader is the first time it goes to work, then, is wrong the method to program the dongle?
which soft must i use, the one opened when i use the switcher or must i have the soft in some folder?
I think is posible there is something wrong in the sw and when i connect the dongle to the pc, when i open the sw, it ask to lpt port for somethig, but there is not any answer and then it says device not found, is that true?
i think the hardware is well because is not a very complicated assembly.
if you can answer to all my doubts, i'll be very grateful to you.
thanks for your time

i think you're wrong
the first thing: if you read my last post, i said "problem solved"
the second thing: the voltage you are speaking is for supply the ic not the phone, i supply the ic with usb port power, this is 5 volts, my ic 16-16pi needs between 4.5 and 5 volts and your 16-8pi needs between 2.7 and 5 volts, them, any of that ic's work with usb port power, the phone have its own power supply, the battery
regards

i'm agree whit you, but i thing operating voltage on interface between phone and atmega is 4,5-5 V and the phone operate below 4,5 V (2,7-3V). Thats way i thing you will never be able to read the phone.

atmega 16 is 40 pins in PDIP package, 44 pins in TQFP package and 44 pins in MLF package, the L is only for operating voltage (L is 2.7 to 5.5 volts, non L is 4.5 to 5.5 volts), and speed grade (L is 0 to 8 Mhz and non L is 0 to 16 Mhz).
