ok.. If you got this point most of the job is done
Now keep going: ati drivers accept up to 4 gpus in crossfire which means you can put 2 cards: you will say then "I use dummy plugs" and I'll answer you the support, included on the drivers 11.6 is limited on 4 gpus under windows and 8 under linux.
With some tricks Is possible to make working a single gpu card like the 6970 on windows, may be 2 (never seen) but a 3rd 6990 which needs obviously the crossfire to see the linked adapter wont work as double gpu.
Obviously, from what you say, you are not using linux so no worth wasting time talking about it.
So now keep going with the simple advert of the computer you are selling and stop talking about your SiFi super*******.. Was more easy to belive you got a 128 Virtex7 (Google it if you don't know what I'm talking about) panel optimzed then a 6 6990 computer.

Erm. 3 is less than 4 (under windows), and yes it is also less than 8 (under linux)

It can be possible bro. am using 3x5970 and its working just fine with no problem. Very stable and i have speed of 9828 at factory clock.

how could you say its not possible to use more than 4 gpu on windows,, did you try????

im running my 3 x hd6990 w/ 1050w PSU, win7 OS it work fine @ 10.7 G/s speed

& my friend 4 x hd6990 or total of 8 GPU no problem in windows

i think 6 x 6990 is very possible

tip: no need to crossfire just install afterburner then set the mem clock as low as you can to minimized heat... im using 600 Mhz mem clock

You don't need any Dummy VGA on linux

no need crossfire brighes under Linux, on W 7 need crossfire brighes

Yes its possible to conect more than 8 GPU on Linux

So yes it's posible to run 6 x 6990, but you need to do some modification

just for information my Each PC have speed of 17.4G /s (17.400Mh/s) 8 x GPU i think is world faster single PC
