It definitely the Broadcom 2045 alright. When I first plug into the computer, it shows up as BC2045A. After installing the new the Widcomm drivers, it shows up as Broadcom 2045.

I could not Flash the Firmware on my Dell 355 Dongle.

I edited the Firmware-File as shown here. But if i try to flash it with the Anycom-DFU Wizard, it start the update but stops at konfig of the device with an Error that the Dongle has removed.

Using the Dell DFU-Wizard it kkeps telling me that the Firmware file is a false one for this Dongle.

Anyone flashed a 355 or any Tips what went wrong ?

For those who can't get a fw upgrade, can you explain/point to the steps for reducing A2DP quality in order to get smoother performance?

Google doesn't find any info on it and I can't find a 'LineSpeed2' key anywhere in my registry.

Thanks for any info.

Jabra A320s works fine with ANYCOM firmware.( BCM2045B2 ,f/w was 2.1.92.0)
Jabra A320s bluetooth dongle looks exactly the same as ANYCOM USB Adapter USB-250 and same as Tecom BT3034
http://www.jabra.com/JabraCMS/EM/EN/...20S/JabraA320s
http://www.anycom.com/products/bluet...102&group_id=3
http://www.tecomproduct.com/BT3034.htm

if check first three bytes of MAC of Jabra (00-16-38) http://standards.ieee.org/regauth/oui/index.shtml it tells us that MAC belongs to:
Code:
00-16-38 (hex) TECOM Co., Ltd.
001638 (base 16) TECOM Co., Ltd.
23 R&D Road 2 Science Based Industrial Park
				Hsin-Chu 300
				TAIWAN, REPUBLIC OF CHINA
after flashing with ANYCOM firware another UHE device appear in Device Manager.

==============================
Acorp WBD1-A2 ( BCM2045A , FCC ID: PANBT333R , firmware 2.3.14.0 , http://www.acorp.com.tw/product2.php?Id=109)
looks exactly the same as CC&C have same FCC ID (without R) as MSI Star Key 2.0 and have funny firmware number maybe this is nonflasheable chip that Jens from ANYCOM talk about(http://forum.anycom.com/index.php?topic=1776.0):
Code:

So I was feeling bored and reckless and decided to flash my Dell Truemobile 355 with the Anycom firmware having successfully flashed my Acer device. I used HexWorkshop to change the PID and VID and recalculate the CRC and BTDFUWIzard to flash the device. Everything worked and my Plantronics headset still worked fine but now my internal WiFi adaptor can no longer find my network. If I unplug the BT device the WiFi works fine but if it is plugged in, even disabled, the Wifi won't work.

Any ideas?

Well maybe I typed to soon. The prime reason for wanting to flash my Dell 355 device to the Anycom was because Anycom seem to give better support and I could also use the btwinitialupdate.exe tool to keep my drivers up to date. So I decided to update the drivers and see if that improved things. Well now I have 5.1.03300 which is even more recent than I was expecting and at least I can just stop the BT device and have my WiFi working.

Having done some checking it seems the 355 is a class II device and the Anycom is class I, maybe this has something to do with it.

This is convoluted!
I just got the moto S9 stereo headset and found out that my IOGear GBU221 (class 2) barely supports A2DP (very choppy with wmp11). It is sold as bt 2.o+EDR and it uses the same BCM2045. I have firmware version 2.1.39.77 and am currently using the widcomm driver version 5.1.0.1100. I have found several other driver versions since from Anycom, but none from any other vendor. Thanks to all that have posted here. This is the most helpful thread I have found yet! I have lots of things to try now, though I'm not sure I'm competent enough to follow some of the more difficult tasks mentioned above. I will report back in hopes of helping others with "our" beta testing A2DP for these crap vendors.
Thanks again, cheers.

Running Summary of ICs, firmware, and OEMs

Here is a summary of sorts that can be used to start some IC/firmware/OEM knowledge-base for all the various "flavors" floating around:

[basic knowledge:
- .dfu files are the firmware update files

- .dfu files are specific to OEM with respect to PID/VID (see "csr thread"
for intructions to modify .dfu file, making CRC change as well: url???

- firmware flashing utilities from Anycom and/or IBM can be used:

Anycom - BTFlasher.exe (key component from this util, is BtDfuWizard.exe (extracted from temp directory while running BTFlasher.exe)

IBM-SetupBluetoothFirmware.exe (still need to extract BtDfuWizard.exe from temp directory while running BTFlasher.exe, see above)

-Anycom has two different USB dongles and the .dfu is specific to each.
USB200- Class 2
USB250- Class 1 ]

BCM2045B2, firmware 2.1.92.0, Jabra A320

BCM2045B1, firmware 2.1.211.299, IBM integrated
