Problems reading PM area.

Today I saw the new version 1.21 installer suite for download.

Here goes, I downloaded it and installed it.

Decided I would read the PM of a 7250i so that I could repair and knackered one...

Well for some strange reason it keeps failing whilst reading PM (either in Absoloute mode or starting @ 0 to 255)

Can someone pls help, whats the point of adding a feature if it won't work correctly.

Hmm... strange, have tried and tried with this 7250i, even tried with a brand new handset to read it, but still no joy, yes it does read another handset model fine, just the 7250i it wont read.

I am trying to read PM for use of writing to another handset, not reading the FULL ABSOLOUTE PM.

What did you read the PM as, Absoloute or ID 0 to 255.

cyklops 05-13-2004 15:25

yes i only make a pm reading from 0 - 255 im NOT using read absolute values

there is no special setting have a look at mine to see maybe i do something diierent to you but standard settings should be fine \

Read problems here too.

6600 PM reading failed even with >30 attempts, stops at various values.
Totally unstable operation...

When we had beta testings, i've personally tested it on 7250, 7250i, 6600, 7650, 8310, 3510 phones, and all was ok.

This is not joke, i mean it.

Ok, if this is not a problem and you say you have tested ok, where do I go regarding an exchange on my box? It clearly appears to be faulty as I have still not read a PM successfully.

cyklops 05-15-2004 10:48

i sure you have done this but check your connections and cables try to read a pm file with easy phone like 3310 and if still have problem make a screenshot here, i dont think your twister is faulty first make a screen shot

you say you can read other models fine so then some small problem maybe

Sha 05-16-2004 04:25

I see
New feature - New problem ::((
So
1. PM -- Permanent Memory
2. ID -- Group ID
3. Record -- Record in Current Id
4. Absolute -- Abbsolute Offset in FLASH memory to PM start
5. Protected Area -- Area which NMP do not allow to read for R&D user
---
Hints
Open PM file with text editor and look what is inside
Group[158] in mostly cases is Gallery picture files

maybe some bugs.

i tried on N7600 and 3650. it stops on different areas. tried on 98se and xp.

i'm sure ufs team will correct this on next update.
