samsung u600 problem with voice

Hi, can anyone tell me how to fix a problem with my U600. When the phone rings I can hear what the other person is saying but they are unable to hear me talking, if I move the slide slightly down about 5mm it seems to make the connection and the recipient can then hear what i say, the only thing is I need two hands to operate the phone, one to hold the exact position of the slider and the other to actually hold the phone to my ear. I'm sure I could take it to bits to get the front slide off the back but does anyone actually know what I am going to be fixing. It doesn't seem like an electrical problem more of a mechanical problem.
