Ericsson 26xx network problem - GSM-Forum

Hi all,
I`ve some Ericsson 2618 and 2628 with full signal indicator and network diplay but I can`t calling (do not display "CONNECTING"). Sometime the phone display "NO ACCSESS".
I tried to clean SIM connector and antena connector, reflow microBGA and radio components (DSP, VCO .... ) but solution work sometime only for 2-3 days.
Anybody can tell me what can I do to solve this network problem?

1. Replace RF IC
2. Maybe PA
3. Maybe you need to rehot logic interface

I replaced only PA and RF IC (in the left of PA) and nothing changed. Maybe need replace audio IC (like COBBA form Nokia phones)?

Try to download the service manual for A2618.
Or visit inside-gsm link. There is a lot of PCB.

What`s a different between 2628x18?

Try to change antenna switch.
It damaged in most cases.

thanks dimka! I `ll try your solution. I`ve most of 10 unit of 26xx with this problems.

To Kairon: the PCB it`s the same; soft are different. The Ericsson 2628 have a modem inside for WAP communication.

RF IC is a square IC under PA in the RF section
Maybe the problem is in broken balls under logic interface IC. It is located at the bottom of the board near the flash. Try to rehot it.

Re-hot logic interface IC(near flash).
Find network (write name provider).
Tryed make a call.No result.Now again writes ''No network''.
What can i do more?Please help!

2. RF IC (square IC in the RF section)
3. Antenna switch
4. MAYBE you need rehot or replace CPU or power IC

In a few days I`ll receive some components for Ericsson 26xx and I`ll repace for all my damage units. Hope to track down this problems for this poor Ericsson phone.
