I was trying to unlock w490, misread the instructions and performed smart test point with tp A only (without B) - from that point there's no light in the display. Tried to do it it again properly and got an error 9b. Is there any chance to save this phone?

Hi...
Error 9B is not the cause of no LCD backlight.
Error 9B just means that the unlocking did not process correctly...so just repeat the prepare process once again...(with both TPs)
To fix your LCD backlight issue...search this forum as there is detailed posts on how to fix .
No LCD Backlight is Hardware problem caused by shield removal.
Check the PCB ...especially where you removed the shield.

If bootloader is 0C.50 and you have SmartTP ver.2 you can unlock using only TP A, if bl is 0C.A1 you have to use ALWAYS both TP A & B.

Info applys to W490, W510, W5 and W6.
