Cool n00b S-Card User Questions (dont ban me pls!!)

hello!!

i have looked around "Search" button, but i prefer to ask to experts..

i have a S-Card (finally!! ) but i have some questions..

1) What is the correct procedure to Unlock phone without TP (i know theres is a "Prepare Cycle".. well, im doin it with a v3i and it was killed.. well, i have to reflash it again)

2) I heared that i just have to connect + and - battery pins on the phone to ensure correct procedure ( |||| ) well, i connect ( | |) but nothing.. phone starts ok, communication OK, but when clip starts to read backup, it says something like

Performing Backup: 1 of 4
Failed!!

and i have tried several times and all was

Performing Backup: 1 of 4 (passed ok) 2 of 4
Failed!!

WHat im doin wrong??

3) What is the correct procedure to perform a IMEI repair??

!!THANK YOU SO MUCH!! for answers, reply, , etc!!

@ luigivsf,

For any procedure that handset should be turned on (not in boot mode)!

Manual for non TP unlock can be found here.

To make backup the phone battery should be fully charged and you should run Prepare cycle(make sure that option "unlock after prepare" not selected) go to backup bookmark and make a backup from the handset without any problems.

To Perform Restore IMEI you should also use Prepare cycle like in backup case, but after Prepare you should log to IMEI repair section and press "IMEI repair fw patch". After paching enter your new IMEI and press ''Restore IMEI"

IMEI section of SmartMoto service software was implemented by developer of this program for repair (original IMEI restore) purposes only!
For some models IMEI could be restored simply by connecting the handset to SmartMoto via Smart-Clip as for flashing.
Some models require to be flashed with “IMEI repair firmware patch”, only after that IMEI could be restored.
In some cases flash chip on phone’s PCB requires to be replaced, to allow user to restore IMEI.

However, every user that applies to this option must remember the original IMEI to be able to restore it. In any case if SmartMoto user, during phone repair process, applies IMEI that differs from the original IMEI, which was previously set with the phone, is doing that on his own responsibility.

Developer of SmartMoto software does not take any responsibility for any incorrect use of that program.
