New to SC, couple of questions.

Hi all.

I think I have done this right.

I have installed and registered SC, which I recently purchased. - inserted box, added 9V power supply, attached phone (V-551 in this case) via v-66 cable

Just trying to attach the phone and see how the program works. However, nothing appears to attach, either by "Smart-Clip USB Port" or "Computer USB Port" (and moving the USB cord between the computer and the box)

Quote:
SmartMoto 1.23
Clip serial: 3*********, version: 2.26, initializing... OK
Searching for phone... no phone found ("Smart-Clip USB Port" - nothing)
Searching for phone... ("Computer USB Port" - nothing, had to cancel)
Cancelled
Searching for phone... no phone found (etc)
Searching for phone... no phone found
Since I am a beginner to SC, I assume I am missing something simple (hopefully) - I have tried both with the phone on and the phone off etc... anything else?

Any other general beginner tips?

Thanks in advance.

Press +, # and PWR on the phone before you connect to cable then click search in Smartmotto and it will find phone. Hope this helps

Interesting - the supplied cable was at fault - I used another cable and it works... Thanks!

Next question - where does one download the flash-files?

Another question

Let's say I have a V-3i and I back-up the flash to make a backup on my harddrive before I attempt some operation (like unlock it) - will that flash only work on that particular V-3i or can I apply that flash to any other future V-3i that comes my way?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks again

One more (which I did not see answered on www.smart-clip.com).

Is there a "Read Flex" as well, or does the "Read Flash" include the flex?
