Member: 46719 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | NEC Temporary Unlock: 1) Put a 2G Simcard (the sim card you want to use) into the phone and turn ON the phone. 2) Enter the following code into the phone (xxxxxxxx = any numbers, If the phone does not ask for a code after entering the #4960* part then this method will not work for you) #4960*xxxxxxxx# *4960*xxxxxxxx*xxxxxxxx# 3) Turn the phone OFF and ON again. Remember the xxxxxxxx you used. You will need to use same code in the future. Attention: - This unlock method ONLY works with one Simcard. If you wish to change to another Simcard or back to the 3g simcard, you will have to unlock again using this same code ! - This method only works on some firmware versions. If it didn't work then only a cable unlock solution can help you. - The code only works on phones manufactured up to March this year - You only have 3 attempts to enter the code before the phone locks out and can only be unlocked by direct cable and software. - If the phone does not ask for a code after entering the #4960* part then this method will not work for you. |

Member: 72709 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | warning to all - i unlocked my phone to a 2.5g Sim but now can not use the 3G SIM - Camera will not finction on 2G nor will MMS or WAP - A big word of warning the 4960 code only works to some extent and it looks like you are stuck with a part functioning phone afterwards. BTW - if anyone knows how I can unlock the SIM back to my 3g card please advise - repeating the 4960 function does not work |

Member: 72327 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Could you post proof that this 'calculator' works, and show what benefits it has over just entering any 8 random numbers into the NEC. All this does is produce an 8 digit number sequence based on a formula that is unconnected to any unlocking criteria. |
