Is there any reason as to why i can't change the oeminfo file then on either of these models as i have tried every bootloader file there is?

the reason is that the protection on the oeminfo partition is still active, the bootloader flashes do not temp unlock the bootloader as such you cant flash via fastboot.

i had one case on an early version of the demo software which did actually set the bootloader to appear as UNLOCKED on screen but it still wouldnt accept fastboot commands, i believe this is because it was not possible to set OEM unlock in dev options

bottom line is right now its not possible on the newer model devices with the kirin 980 or on the kirin 710 chips found in the mate 20 lite. unless you can get a bootloader unlock code and root the device there is no solution

i have oem info, i can get unlock code for bootloader.
what i do with oem unlock? its gray out can be enabled, so unlock code for bootloader cant be used.

Flash an update base. On LYA, oem-frp switch is ungreyed after build >B170.

On unlocked Bootloader Kirin980, even with root, dd flashes oeminfo partition right, but stock oeminfo partition persist and does not change !
