NSS Connecting problem

I don't get the NSS to connect to my 6500c.
It doesn't update the "Phone Info" tab. And on the bottom status line it shows "Failed" status.

I can connect with the Nokia PC Suite. So the USB port, Cable and the phone should be OK.

I have tried several different ways to connect..
- rebooting PC, running or not running the PC Suite before the NSS
- different USB connection types in the phone
- two different PC:s

Any hints.
How can I change the product code if I cannot connect

The phone is originally from Thailand .. and I should be able to get the Nordic languages into it ..

Antti

Confused??

I just bought a Nokia 6500 Slide (Silver/Black) with o2 software on it.

Quite simply, I just want it to be a Euro model with generic Nokia software, & English language on it. I don't really care what others are on it, but the fewer the better.

What product code would I use?

Sorry, but I have never de-branded a phone before, except my N75, & then there was never an update via NSU, so I couldn't de-brand it.

Thanks very much!!

Uninstall Nokia drivers via control panel and install these

I just debranded my 6500 Slide & updated the FW to v 6.60
I noticed that the slide tone is gone now, & my videos seem to be a little slow. I wish I would've used v 4.84 instead. There is no way to downgrade your FW is there?

Just upgraded to v6.60 myself ... miss the "slide tone" but not exhibiting any slowness in video playback (not that I use it much at all but just compared my v6.60 handset to a v3.80 handset we have in stock)

Hey, total newbie to debranding phones here as I only found out about this sort of stuff yesterday. I received my new phone and found out that Orange have basically programmed the # on my 6500c black so that it switches between lines 1 and 2 (I don't have a line 2). I would like to send my phone back to the original setting where I press the # key and the phone goes to silent. It took a phone call to nokia to find out that I'd have to debrand the phone (as orange didn't know what the hell was going on and eventually decided the handset was faulty). Please would someone tell me exactly what I need (inc. progams, product codes, tutorials etc..) to accomplish my desire as this # key problem is really grinding on me. Kinda worried about it going wrong and me voiding the warranty though. Would it be best to just send it back and get a different phone?

Allow you need is NSS (Nemesis Service Suite) , NSU (Nokia Software Update utility) and the original cable the handset came with.

Use NSS to change the product code to 0549718, then run NSU and it will replace the Orange firmware with the proper generic Nokia firmware.
