Could It Be Possible To Unlock All BB5???

Two points to consider first;
  1. Many moons ago Dejan released his SP Unlocker for older BB5 handsets (6630, 6680, N70 etc.). He stated that the logger could be used only for a few selected handsets but the calc would work with any BB5 handset if a way could be discovered to read the required information (many have referred to this as the magic 16 bytes).
  1. When Cinek first posted about his method, he announced that it could be used, in theory, to write code into any BB5 handset.

Recently Universalbox announced they will be releasing their BB5 NO T/P solution on 17/11/08. I noticed particularly that they claim users will have the ability to generate the unlock code and enter this into the phone instead of a direct unlock if preferred. This may be a stab in the dark, but it seems to me that Universalbox have used Cinek's method to gain access and read the required information, then the information is used with Dejan's calc to generate the unlock code.

Going back to point 2 above - if Cinek's method can be used to access the required information in all BB5, surely Cinek's method and Dejan's BB5 calc can be used to unlock all BB5?

I'm probably way off the mark but I would be interested to hear the thoughts of others

interesting you can be sure there are some who have algo for this but as this particular (fbus) solution cannot be protected (DM3) maybe to release is to risky at this point in time when new nokia bb5++ appear solution will come out to market place like BB5KING ........

Protection is always an issue because coders want to ensure their solution is not easily copied, also customers want to know it's well protected so that free solutions are not available shortly after paying. I would be very interested to hear the thoughts of Dejan or Cinek on this, or even JAF/UB/MT coders.

Makes sense to me, it would be nice to hear from the coders if this is been done. I suppose technically it is viable as this is probably what DM3 does. I wish that everybody would just come clean and let us know who is using what method so that we can make educated decisions on what to buy.

BB5 unlocking problems have gone on long enough and the coders have all made good money its time we had a complete solution.

I have spoken with some close friends at Leeds University and they have offered to research this further. If anyone has any ideas/theories please post here and I will pass this information on to my friends. If they make any discoveries I will post information here

dont blame the guy for a long time he introduced the theory for unlocking nokia mobiles dct3/4 bb5 etc for free (maybe from his point of view a bad business move ) and every body including developers / unlockers made vast amounts of cash and praised him for being such a nice guy ...........then he seen the DM3 business model how to protect your asset and maximise your profits that is what got him thinking ...................
