Warning: You might brick your phone by doing that.

You need:
Firmware for Rm-146 and Rm-147 (same version of the current firmware version)

Upgrade via Dead Phone Flashing.

Turn off the phone, remove Sim. Replace battery.

Open Phoenix, Under Manage Connection, Promote "NO CONNECTION". Open Product, open whatever product you are planning to flash to. Choose the product code, tick Dead Phone Flashing. Press Start, and when it prompts you to press the power button. Press and Hold it until it finishes loading the raw data.

Wait and pray that your phone boots, if doesn't boot. Perform a Dead Phone Flash to the original firmware and hope that it will return the phone from dead.

This post saved my phone. I did end up with my phone in a dead like state. I tried to downgrade it and it failed towards the end of the flash when it tries to communicate with the device again.

This method got my phone back up and running but it only worked if I used the exact same firmware that it had on it.

The problem with getting it to rm-147 is there is no rm-146 and rm-147 that has matching firmware versions from what I can see.

I wonder if I wait and in time the rm-147 version goes higher than my current rm-146 version and I change the product code with NSS and try the NSU to flash it.

Thats all I can think of.

Any other idea's on how to get the phone onto rm-147?

I currently am running a 5300b with rm-146 4.70

I want to flash it to a rm-147

There maybe hardware limitation on the 5300b that does not allow the conversion.

I have successfully convert a 6300b (RM-222) into 6300 (RM-217), I have no problems with that.

I converted a RM-147 to an RM-146 with no problem. But I can not convert back to RM-147

I took a t-mobile branded 5300b and changed the product code, that allowed me to use NSU to update to RM-146 and update the firmware to a higher version.

I know have non t-mobile RM-147 flash files and I would like to put RM-147 back on the phone.

I tried a few things but the end result is always a dead phone that I can only bring back to life by flashing with the dead USB option to the exact same firmware I had it on.

I wish there was some way to trick it or something.

I think it is not letting me downgrade, the RM-146 is 4.70 and the RM-147 is like 3.90 or something.

If you can think of anything I would love to hear it and try it.

USB Flashing with Phoenix has 1 problem.. the inability to downgrade.

That's a fact and we have to live with it.
