Member: 43098 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 71 | How To Put N95 8gb in Test Mode? - Help? So my question is: How can I put this phone in "Test Mode" or "Local Mode" so I can activate the USB port of the phone and then use my software to reset the code? Many thanks in advance for any help. I truly appreciate it. *NOTE* I have been searching for awhile now, but everything I come across is for a box of some sort, I'm looking for a solution just for a computer and phone, no box. Again many thanks in advance. |

Member: 43098 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 71 | Thanks for your reply, but I have already seen and read that thread. If you read post 2 of that thread, they quote my same problem. When a Symbian 3rd device is security locked, the USB is locked aswell, so when I try that software, my computer doesnt see the phone because the USB port on the phone is locked out. And that is my problem. How can I get my computer to see the phone, since the USB port is locked out from the security code.... |

ok try this Remove standard battery from phone. Look on battery where are +,- so you can find +,- on phone 3 pin battery conector. 3-th lefted pin is BSI ! Now use resistor of 10K and one wire of resistor connect to "-" and second wire to BSI. Now connect Power suply set to 4,6V and 300mA and connect to +,- on phone battery conector. Connect FBUS (DKU-5) to phone and PC. Power phone ON and phone will go into test mode.

Alright so if I understand this correctly, if I put the resistor on the BSI line just like instructed, it will not work with my original oem factory nokia usb cable? (DKU-2) I have to get a unlocking box, and go from there? Also, what does everybody mean by FBUS? Sometimes I see it being referred to as a USB cable, other times I see it being referred to as a box cable with a enthernet jack on the other end.... So i'm confused. Thanks again

Member: 43098 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 71 | Well, I tried using a 10k resistor and a 8.2k resistor between the BSI line and the - Line of the back battery terminals, and nothing happend. The phone just booted up like normal and still asked me for the lock code, it did not go into local mode or test mode... Is there something that I am doing wrong? |

Member: 43098 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 71 | IT WORKED! The 8.2k resistor does infact put a N95 8gb into Local Mode! Apparently the first time I tried it, I didnt have enough connection for the resistor... I tried a few more times, and made sure there was connection, and it worked like a charm! Many many many thanks to sharaz191 and everyone else that helped me on this forum, I read alot of information here about this issue and finally I got everything working. Thanks |
