I have flashed the 6280 this morning from v3.81 to v5.92 directly, but i have to tell you that my 6280 died at the first attempt. I had to use the "dead phone usb flashing" Phoenix feature in a second attempt and now the phone is working fine with 5.92 firmware.

I know people who haven´t any problem flashing it in a first attempt.

Regards.

for some reason phoenix kills the fone, then revives it using dead usb flashing

I think that the problem is Phoenix detect 6280 as a 6288 and then the installed cable drivers doen´t work properly with te 6280 at the end of the flashing...

You can see that the firmware package contents firms for 6288 and 6280. The same phone? Maybe, but something happens with the 6280 cable drivers cause has no sense a first failed flash and the second flashing works fine (at the second attempt you select manually the 6280 correct firmware at Phoenix)

But my 6280 was detected as 6280 (not as 6288). The correct product number was chosen automatically. I´m not sure what the reason was/is.

during flashing ape driver is erased so when dead usb is used some drivers are replaced after phoenix revive it detects 6288 and looking for drivers. but on selected 6280 model only.
