Nokia 6280 - info, latest sw, help me.

Hi,

I currently own a Samsung D600 - it's crap, it takes around 2.5 secs to take a picture on full quality - how crap is that, what if i wanted to capture a moment of son smiling or doing something funny - then I cant.

So it's up for sale, but in the mean time, I am going to buy a Nokia 6280, I love the look of it and have used a few of them and flashed and repaird a few, they seem like nice phones, but the only thing stopping me is the software that Nokia use on theyre phones.

Can anyone tell me how reliable they would say a Nokia 6280 v3.70 would be.

And is there anything newer than this version (3.70) available for the phone, obviously mine is sim free and I have access to a flasher etc.

SoMe HeLp would be nice.

br,
Danny,

I think v3.70 is latest one (not sure), have a 6280 myself since about one month with software version v3.50 and I tell you that this is a brilliant phone, not as slow of software than series 60 (like N70) great camera, great music player, navigation system on my phone, e-mail and so one, all work good, never get problem with software at all, but if UMTS is available battery lose very fast power

If you want a kick-*** camera phone then buy a K750/W800i,no phone can compare to this when taking photos.I was not impressed with a 6280

Mujie - I have to agree with the camera BUT, this is far more superior to the D600 - it takes images quick! and it's at least twice the quality when comparing to a D600 - IMO that is...

D600 was a good picture too, cant wait until i compare between my dads w800, my 6280 and the misses D600 - will have to use the kodak machine and see what the prints differ like.

I know W800 is a good phone, but dont like sony ericsson's - never really have done, oh and check out the zoom on the 6280!! it's mad, never seen a phone zoom as much, put it this way, the fit bird living opposite my flat - im sure if i zoom the camera from my living room window - I would be able to see right into her front room or bedroom - this is good!... I call this kick ***...

So far, had it 18hours and very pleased, however, I did manage to make it crash once - transferred a 50mb video from one folder to another on MMC and it didnt like it, but worked 2nd time around.

Thanks guy's.

br,
Danny.

Can you flash 6280 in yorkshire? I havent met any in newcastle im afraid.

Btw, whats the purpose of flashing anyways? It won't allow it to be unlocked anyways... im using a 6280 by 3 uk with a firmare v3.36 RM-78 05-12-05. If look for someone to flash it to v. 3.7, what difference will it make?

Hi,

Yes we can do flashing here in West Yorkshire, Bradford.

We charge £15.00 and need the phone for approx 1hour, depending on how busy we are.

Now finally - you will notice that the phone will seem to run better, smoother and if there is any bugs in the s/w you have at current, then they should be fixed - especially if you are using 3.36 - this is old, and 3.70 is the latest.

br,
Danny.
