T28 world tri-band, can't make it work.

Please HELP a newbee, I got T28 world, tri-band, North American version. After unlocking with ATR 5.0, the phone sad "Insert correct sim". I eepromed it and flashed it with everithing i could find, and it still shows the same thing, only in Arabian now. Does anyone have an idea how should i fix this. I am also not shure that it is flashing, ATR gives error when trying to erase and quits, but looks like varanius does the job dough the status E3 which comes after erasing makes me think it also has some kind of error. Thanks in advance.

I am getting the E9 code from varanius after flash has completed uploading and no change. I used a eeprom and flash from a working phone and reflashed that same phone. After firmware was uploaded the status showed E3 like after erasing, but on the other phone, the flash from the working one gives status code E9. Anyone have any idea what to do. Both phones were locked to same operator, and the working one still is, so the proble should not be SP lock.

remember if u change eprom than after words u need to flash ur phoen as well as to change the imei-- coz the phoen show u locked status after uploading a new eprom in the phone--
these are the steps do that again--

1-- upload a good eprom in ur phone
2- flash with a good flash ( read from a working phone)


u got a working phone--- may be u need to unlock that after as u copy full flash from a locked phone--

Thankx. I was only epproming and flashing.
So, if i got this right:

1> Up eeprom
2> Flash
3>change IMEI
4>Unlock

What do you suggest for changing IMEI? This phone is wierd when it comes to ATR software. Sometimes it will work with 5.3 and sometimes only with 5.0, and even than, it may not work with all functions.

if ur phone does not connect with the flasher /5.3 atr--
connect the phone without battery =push flash button and when ask for push on connect the battery---

T28 World is not triband, only 900 and 1900 !!!
I have a pair of flash and eeprom from a T28 World. I can send it to you tomorrow !

No way, atr5.3 can only read eeprom. To read flash use Allertool !

But i have problem fashing it with the ATR. It gives me error03 after erasing flash and quits. Changing IMEI is also not going well, when i try to change the IMEI it tells me to check the phone type. What tools would you recomed to do this

@danny98: I have a similar problem with a modified T28s CXC125209.
At flashing I get ERROR 03 or 'check phone type'.

I solved the problem this way:

History of my try to make it workable:

using original EEPROM uploaded with varianus 0.10

flashing with ATR 5.3 goes up to 99% -> ERROR03

flashing with ATR2.2 goes up to 100% -> TAMPERED, All locks closed, unlock don't work


uploaded EEPROM from CXC125209-T28 with varianus 0.10
(suitable EEPROM to the flash)
flashing with ATR 5.3 goes up to 100% -> locked

using ATR 5.3 to unlock -> Mobile is fine, but wrong IMEI

trying to change IMEI with ATR 5.3 -> T28 or R320 detected; sending application ; Application sent OK; ERROR: check phone selection

Next try will be using ATR 5.0.

But now the new trials:

trying to change IMEI with ATR 5.0 -> T28 or R320 detected; sending application ; Application sent OK; ERROR: check phone selection

trying to change IMEI with ATR 2.2 -> T28 detected; sending application ; Application sent OK; IMEI changed - need to flash!

flashing with ATR 5.3 goes up to 100% -> NO lock

So my solution is 'in a short way':

1. upload the EEPROM that is suitable to the flash. (I hope mr_x4you has send them to you) with varianus 0.10 (very fast) or ATR.

2. upload firmware with ATR5.3

3. re-enter battery and unlock with ATR5.3 (mobile should work with wrong IMEI)

4. Change IMEI with ATR2.2 (DarkLemming revive) After changing stop programm!

5. Use again ATR5.3 for flashing!

Hopefully this will work in your case as good as in mine!

OK i did eeprom and flash from another t28w and tried to change IMEI with ATR 5.3 and it would say Can't get Bootstrap or Check the phone. (**After that i am unable to connect the phone to varanius. can't read nor write epprom, nor flash)** somehoe it fixed it self. ATR still wan't flash, gives error 3. So i can't change the the IMEI. In the engenier menu i see all the locks implemented. I am trying to figure something out. Do i have to have the same imei on the eeprom as on the back of the phone. If i don't have the same imei as on the back of the phone, can i still unlock it or do i have to have the matching imei's to unlock it.
