I purchased a couple of old Motorola E398 off ebay, one has a subsity lock and I am will to part with the 2 bucks to unlock it.

The issue is I can not get the IMEI number as the sticker has gone from inside and it will not let me enter the # as it just has the Enter Subsidy Code on the screen and will only accept numbers. I have no idea who the phone is locked to. I have an original usb cable.

Ok, question, how do I find the IMEI number apart from the two normal methods? Is it on the board somewhere or is there a software solution to find the number?

The phone is not really worth spending money on however is in good nick for age and its a shame to ditch it.

Forget it, it was easy, just downloaded Motorola phone tools V4 for older phones and it allows you to input the #*06# from the keypad on the computer image of the motorola displayed on the PC. Now to pay my 2 bucks to see if it will unlock.

Just for interest it cost me 3.34 Australian dollars to get the code and works great.
