Member: 67732 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Re: Does anybody have java for Sl45, what i can remote Tv or other thing by irda This is a great idea, AFAIK IR sensor's frequency can be changed, I don't know for SL45i exactly but I think that it can be changed just like any other IR sensor that can be bought in electronic shops. The problem is, can Java applet control this kind of HW setting. I don't know much about Java programming and Siemens HW, but can anyone that know answer these questions.... |

But you can't send specific frequences i.e. no direct TV remote control. Sorry. Buy a TV remote, it's not expensive. |

Member: 60520 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Yes, and I summarized the possibilities to respond the IrDA-connection with midlet code. Java doesn't support IrDA in MIDP1.0 version, only in SL45i (and no successor phones like S55) you can do this (with Siemens library). You can't send specific frequences to control your TV or something else. You only can send bytes, and they will be packed with IrDA protocol and e.g. received by other IrDA ports from mobiles or notebooks. So it really is possible to use irda in SL45i for some things, like programming 2-player-games with other SLs or change data with other irda-having-phones or notebooks. But there's no possibility to access directly the irda connection for sending commands to television or something like that. You need (as I said) MIDP2.0 (maybe?) or Symbian for this. |

I don't know the docs&specs for Nokia SDK, but just have a look at java.sun.com -> Wireless Java and then look in the paragraph about Nokia and download that SDK. |
