Fast Check and Battery Life

I know that this is an old subject but i have to ask because it seems weird to me When "fast check" is activated my battery lasts one day longer than having it deactivated Can anyone tell me why is this happening? In the manual it is said that having "fast check" activated reduces battery life dramatically! The exact opposite thing happens to my SL45 I think that this thing is gonna drive me crazy ThanX

you sure you have that the right way round? what fast search does is when teh reception is low, it will immediately try and look for reception, so in a low reception area, the phone is always looking. when it's turned off, the phone will allow some time before it searches.

maybe if you are in a good reception area, the phone doesn't look at all hard for reception?
