Member: 42457 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | LogReader vs callLogReader But now the little contest: LogReader0.23 - the first programm developed for reading our lovely files created by rc-flitzer (ignition release and further development) and seklth - Very quick to load - Seperate viewing options for Incoming/Outgoing/Unanswered and SMS logs - You can manually choose the month you want to see (very usefull for historia) - Every entry is sorted reverse (that means, the newest entry is the first) - The programm calculates all time for calls going out and calls going in - Dialing support, you can direct choose the number and call - good navigation, the arrows navigate through the menu - If you choose an entry, the user interface looks really really nice (like if you view an entry of a contact on your SIM card) Now the second canditate: CallLogReader 0.30 from adancau - also very quick to load (I don't know which ones faster but I think it this programm) - Seperate viewing options for Incoming/Outgoing/Unanswered and SMS logs - Also entries are sorted reverse but with one difference, the calls have date extension and the calls you received today got instead date a time extension (very good idead and very very usefull) - You can directly read the name, if the name (unknowen number) isn't present then of course number will be shown - Dialing support like LogReader0.23 - good navigation, in list mode, left and right arrow make a jump to next/previous day entries Conclusion: Both programms are good for viewing log files. Noone is perfect The viewing mode of LogReader 0.23 seems to be better. It looks like viewing a contact that is stored on your SIM card. Both programms got dialing support that works. CallLogReader 0.30 has a better viewing in the list mode. You can see the date, were there was an action an if you see the contact of today then the time of action is added instead of date... Really good. The best thing is that the name of the person who called or you've called is showen. I don't want to bother anyone - I just want to take small tour and want some people to test both programms. They are really great. Maybe the 3 authors work together on one big programm That would be the best If there are any errors in programm description you mentioned then let me know Bye yours cyperghost Last edited by cyperghost; 08-31-2004 at 22:41. |

Member: 67838 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Hi One small observation re: callLogReader. Left/Right keys are not used for 5-entry jumps. They jump from one day to the next or to the previous. Kind regards, Andrei |

Member: 42457 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 1 | oi...Sorre Maybe I receive five calls per day? So I edit and cancel that, it's a good option - thanks But one question to the author, in how far can CallLogReader handle big file sizes? And if you allow my opinion, make a interface in viewing mode, like LogReader has - it's quite more easier to read (I mean the viewing mode if you select an entry and get a close look to it) |
