I've read on this forum about upgrading an A55 to a C55, and am just wondering what the benefits are and how likely it is to kill the phone.

Also, is it possible to get some software to change the logo, ring tones, etc for my A55?

Compare them on my-siemens.com. If you want GPRS then it's a must I guess. Lots of other bits and pieces too.

U can't upload logos on A55!

Use search! It is a very old topic!

Tutorial for update A55 to C55: (Tested 100% work)

1.Make backup of fullflash with freia.
2.Use http://www.siemensgsm.ru/programs/xtream/eepromtool.rar to make eeprom backup.
3.Make backup log file with Freia.
4.Select «Miscelanous»>«Backup battery parameters from phone»>«??»
5.Choose "C55",select «Write Flash»,select file with Fullflash Siemens C55 >«Firmware» > «??»
6.After flash process is end select «Miscelanous» «Restore battery parameters in phone»> «Siemens A55 — XXXXXXXXXXXXXX battery.MAP» > «??»
7.Then go to "Unlocking" function > "Create MAP from phone" and select "Use Original IMEI".
8.In "Unlocking" select "Load MAP to phone" and select MAP file

I've tried to upgrade my daughter's A55 to C55 using the above tutorial, but have a few queries......

1/ I made backups of Firmware, Eeprom 1, Bootcore, Custom and Battery parameters using Freia 15. Q. Is the firmware backup fullflash??
2/ I couldn't write the C55 flash coz I couldn't find a flash file.... I tried running the official Seimans firmware update software (c55_app_c55_180505_1800.exe) but it didn't recognise the A55. Can someone give me a URL for this flash file that I can use with Freia please?
3/I downloaded and tried running the eepromtool.rar but have no password. Do I need to still do this or is the eeprom backup on Freia 15 the same thing?
4/ Is there anything else I should be aware of before I risk trashing the phone?

Upgrade A55 to C55
use Freia 18
1. try unlock A55 with, if can unlocked go to upgrade.
2. flash a55 with C55 full flash file.
3. after flash just unlock with original imei.
4. done

now you can upload ringtones, picture to your A55

need C55 flash files?? mail me.
