From SME45 to S45i. New method! ALL phones. NO bugs at all!

So... I won't write a lot of unuseful info... ;-) The main you must know: there's now a new patch without any problems. Forget my old method - it was terrible and foollish. ;-) Here you are new bytes for fix in S45i_v04:

Disable for the first CRC check
298AE2: DA CC
298AE3: CD 00
298AE4: DC CC
298AE5: 59 00

Disable for the second CRC check
2DB73A: 2D 0D

Upgrade S/ME45 -> S45i:
2CB102: 3D 0D

NetMonitor
2A9156: 2D 0D

Open-BfB (for use of SensorTool):
2963CA: 20 0A

--------------------------------------

The new method has the following advantages:
1) Only 1 byte for all (s45 or me45) phones. ;-)
2) Works for ALL phones.
3) There's NO problems with temperature.
4) There's NO problems with entering ServiceMode.
5) The phone will be less buggy. ;-)

So. Use it at your own risk... The patched parts of fullflash are on my YahooGroup:

It's very old and wellknown problem. ;-) The solution for now (not the best but working) is the following: just replace 68 block of EELITE in your phone by the one from S45i EELITE. Use i.e. my Siemens EEPROM tool. The right block is on my YahooGroup.

@Skylord

Thanks for your efforts .

I have tried the past methods and they simply didn't work for me, so now I'm going to try again, but I have one question:

Do I flash the phone (s45) with ff040315-S45i.bin and then flash the patch (000000 - 050000) and finally change IMEI?

Thanks m8

Michael.

@Skylord

Could you put the instruction how to flash ME45 to S45i (previous solution doesn't work for me - after flashing always 'beep' and no more...). Please help !

@juchasek
1) make a backup of your original flash
2) Use winsup to upgrade your mobile form ME45 to S45i checking both skip. And start upgrade
3) Now your mobile doesn't switch on, it's right. Upload with UniSiemens (or SM45Tools) your .bin
4) Modify this .bin like the first post of this topic
5) Download the new .bin
6) Unlock your mobile
7) Have fun!

Only 45 minutes to do it!

It doesn't work with my ME45 v30 !! Why ?

I did:

1. Flashing with v04 S45i WinSWUP. OK.
2. Uploading S45i-040315-290000-2DFFFF-all_fixed.bin into the phone (using S45/Me45 Tools). OK.
3. Unlocking with S45/Me45 Tools and Maxim Direct Unlocker (with Dongle). OK.
4. And finally... Stupid "BEEEEEEEP" from the phone WRONG .

What should I do ? Who knows ?

@skylord

thank you for the new method.... however sadly this method still doesn't work on the asian version of ME45 (3168) the problem is still like the old upgrade methods.. the phone starts until it logs onto the network where it will give a beep sound and switch off...

demo mode without the sim card works well.
any remedies?
