Member: 51995 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | Important Information To Sellers In Northern Ireland And People Who Have Bought Items http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/c...diaId=23600684 CURRENT INFORMATION Advice to customers during period of illegal strike action Royal Mail apologies sincerely for the disruption and inconvenience caused by the unlawful strike action, which although largely confined to Belfast, means that mail posted to, from and within Northern Ireland may be subject to delay. The current situation is as follows: Royal Mail in Northern Ireland is unable to accept any further Special Delivery, including International Airsure, items with immediate effect. Items already accepted at Post Office branches will not receive a full service and no more will be taken in. Managers will continue to make every effort to continue delivering Special Delivery items posted in Great Britain for addresses across Northern Ireland, including those in North, South and West Belfast. Mail posted in Belfast is not being processed and therefore will not be delivered regardless of destination. Customers can still post mail outside the affected areas in Belfast for delivery to other parts of Northern Ireland, excluding North, South and West Belfast, although there will also inevitably be less mail for delivery. However, customers should note that Items posted in Northern Ireland for delivery to Great Britain (and including international items and those for the Republic of Ireland) are not being dispatched. Most incoming mail from Great Britain and other parts of the world should, however, be delivered – again with the exception of North, South and West Belfast. East Belfast remains unaffected although there will inevitably be less mail for delivery. Firms collections are not taking place in the areas of Belfast affected. Business and other customers in Belfast can still post at a Post Office but should be aware that this mail is unlikely to be processed until the end of the strike action. Customers expecting or sending urgent mail from businesses or financial institutions should contact those organisations and ascertain if alternative methods of communication can be considered in the short-term, such as telephone or email. Continued updates and information for customers will be on the website at www.royalmail.com. Customers can also contact our helpline on 08457 740 740 for further information and advice. |
