I don't think it has anything to do with F488 firmware since my original firmware was F480DXHI2 and i have flashed to F480XEHJ1 before F488ZHHJ1

I had same problem, I tried to flash with the december firmware one more time and it went smooth, was scared as **** though when it just got stuck in the restart.

Firmware HL1 working fine here. Flashed as normal and everything works perfectly.

I can also confirm that the camera firmware has not changed in this build.

Also, for those who get a "lock" after flashing it is usually because the phone was originally soft unlocked. You need to get it unlocked properly to retail it from flash to flash.

i have the same problem with F480XEHL1 that get stucked at the loading screen it just stops at the middle when loading..

i'm from F480DXHI2 and try to flash to F480XEHL1 but it just hangs in the loading screen..

so from F480XEHL1 i flashed it again to F480XEHJ1 and it works fine..

any difference about the L1 and the J1? any cool widgets? menu colors? or the camera?

and one more thing how would you know if my phone unlocked properly? i flashed it to F480DXHI2 - F480XEHL1 and to F480XEHJ1 and it works perfectly without the "network lock" message..

can i flash again my phone to any other FW because i'm scared that my phone will get this "lock" message//

I got the same problem too.. When i flashed to F480XEHJ1, my fone freezed in the middle of loading screen.. then, I reflash myfone to the original f/w (F480DXHI2). Yeaaa went back to the normal state. But then, when I tried to flash to F480XEHL1, my fone hang and I reflash again.. huhuhu.. How to upgrade my f/w if such things happened again and again.. ??

I was on F480DXHI2 before and had flashed to F480XEHJ1. If your phone is originally locked to certain network provider, you'll have problem , to ungrade you'll hav to give to local samsung support, but if it's on Open basis, you can use any SIM then you'll hav no issue after flashing to F480XEHJ1.

NOTE!!! F480XEHJ1 is European, you will lose the Asian language pack, meaning, no indonesia, if it doesn't matter to u, u can go ahead.
The HI2 infact is good already changing to HJ1, you will get more widgets like bluetooth, message, memo, calculator, alarm. you will also get the main menu colour in Black or White, previously blk only. Apllication will have Minimise option instead of Close only.

flashing has nothing to do with unlocking the phone either ways; it won't lock it if it's properly unlocked and for sure it won't unlock it

Hmm.. I already tried to flash my fone to XEHJ1.. but, my fone got freezed on loading screen.. then I flashed again to its ori f/w.. So, my question is, "How do I upgrade my f/w if its gets freeze everytime I flash?"

More info, on the multi loader window (Right corner), It says that Amss->Success
Rsrc-> Failed -- Invalid Address it says..

Then on my fone screen, after finishing [MODEM to 100%], below it, it says "What ???"

I am extremely very very confused....

Bit confused with this recent talk on the newer HL1 FW.

Ok I have a UK O2 F480, It accepts SIM cards from other networks, and has no branding on, flashed to XEHJ1 with no probs, is it ok to flash to HL1?

Second question, brother has a F480 on Vodaphone UK, it has branding on it. It doesnt allow other SIM cards from different networks on. Is it ok for me to flash it for him to HL1, and then just use his Vodaphone SIm in? ie he's not bothered on it being unlocked to all networks as long as it wrks on Vodaphone for him

So what improvements does the HL1 bring? Cant believe the camera FW has never changed, this is prob the area where it does need improving.

Edited: I found the way out to fix this problems... So, thx once again to anyone who reply to my Qs..

btw, is F480 has Instant Messenger.. I find Instant Messenger Menu when I dial, *#6984125*#-> features... But I dun understand at all to turn it on or to make it appear somewhere on the menu.. anyone can help me??

hi everyone merry christmas to start, just wanna say i got a tocco off the santa lol, and well checked firmware and wanna update to the newest, never done this sort of thing before, so if possible could you let me know what software i need to do this and also a link for the newest firmware, it's and orange network tocco, but using an o2 sim card. my firmware as of now is

The newest is F480XXHJ4. That one isn't on the web yet, the newest on the web is F480XXHF7

Hi all I've got a sim free Tocco that I want to use on the '3' UK network, is there any where I can download the latest '3' branded firmware? As a few things do not work such as '3' interent portal and downloads without it. Please help if you can.
