Angry [Z500] UMTS problems

Hi.

I recently bought a z500 and unlocked using the z105 method. Now I am trying to use (swedish operator) Tele2Comviq. I can use the GSM/2G with the operator but when I set network type to "Automatic" and it switches over to UMTS/3G i get coverage for a second and then get "Unregistered SIM".

I have tried firmwares Z500BVEG4 and Z500CVEG1 with no difference. I have used the SIM card in a Sony Ericsson Z1010 and it gets full UMTS/3G coverage.

Any suggestions apprecited. I have vauge memory of a post describing problems using UMTS services with the z500 after unlock. Can anyone colaborate?

i had similar problems with z107. no network with sim from one specific operator. others work (sim cards are valid :P ). unlock could have nothing to do with it as you can read codes and enter them by keypad - can't mess up tge phone

Exactly my thoughts. Thanks for confirming. It is a bit strange that the 2G/GSM though works fine.

Anyone else with Tele2Comviq who can give his/her experience would be great.

I on the other hand have also used the z500 method for unlocking and my phone works just great with UMTS on comviq/telia/vodafone . Those is the ones i've tested.

What operator was the phone locked for in the beginning?

Ok. There is another lock that you can't remove with Z105 sw.. That is active in some of telias sw. So thats probably why the phone won't work..

Thankyou for the suggestions but I think that you didn't read the original post throughly to make that assumption.

First, I can agree on that that would be likely if I would be using Telias software but as stated that is not the case. Even tried several.

That they have tampered with the physical hardware to lock users out is highly unlikely (since they offer unlock services after 12 months) and it would lock the sim out fully. As stated in the original post I am able to use the GSM / 2G net of the operator with the SIM card.
