Question Mobile Phone Chargers Survey

Dear All,

As part of my engineering degree, I must undertake a product design project. My project will be a redesign of the mobile phone charger to make it more environmentally friendly.

To help with the market research part of the project, I would be grateful if a few people could make some comments below regarding experience with existing products.

For example are you happy with existing chargers?
Do you leave these plugged in when not in use?
Did you have experience with solar or wind-up chargers?
If so did you have a good or bad experience? Which brand did you purchase and what price?

Any other comments would also be welcomed.

Thanks in advance,
Dave.W

yes Dave thank u for starting this project . in my point of view about 20% people leave d mobile charger switch on during not in use condition.
these consume some energy or electricity .

I also think in my mind for solar or wind type mobile charger , but alone I can't able to make. ( I am sure u r with me )

here in my country most people r using cheap chines make chargers , that consume much electricity than original one . I already messure d current in both chargers in use condition.

& for brands I always use original charger .here in my country nokia original charger r available at Indian Rs.250/- , motorola Rs.350/- , samsung Rs.250/- , sony Rs.400/-

Hi Dave,

I Think Nokia,s Old Big Charger Was Very Perfect & Reliable.Big Charger Had Very Good Hardware.I Think It Should Be Back In Market With Small Shape .

In my Imagination it should proper Supply both Voltage & current with auto cut if no load / overload & when full charged

Bcoz most of user leave the charger in plug even when not charging

hi,
Actually solar chargers are not so effective that have been made so far because the charging speed is very very slow even you can't charge your battery with in a whole day,
but yes! there are some dc chargers in our market that charge the mobile's battery very nicely..
and dc voltage can be generated from solar energy very easily and effectively,
so if one can develop the good range of that kind of chargers which have a battery inside those, and that battery would be charge by solar energy,
so it will be nice for our and our environment.

Best regards,
Vinay

hi Dave

For future, idea of solar chargers that can charge like normal chargers would be much appriciated and its design could be like a small bluetooth dongle which we should plug directly into usb port of the mobile

it will provide us portability and real mobility with wireless enviornment

so plz work on this idea but m not sure whether its feasible or not.

best of luck
Br,
Qaiser

On Europe i think that now need to be one charger for all mobiles , so that can be very nice if one charger will charged all mobiles phone on the market!

Smallest charger from nokia are now for now the best charger , also if that are an original one.

Prices for one original charger here on my country are 5.euro!
