federal act means what man...is it legal or illegal .....and what about changing IMEI ????is it like UK or not ?

i haven't talked to an attorney but, what i have found out is basically its ok to unlock and upgrade the software. You are not allowed to touch the IMEI.

But i'm only about half sure of this. This is the laws around the world it seems.

Same law applies in Australia as far as I know.

Yes i've been running an unlock business out of the U.S. and everyone asks if its legal. THe ony thing you cannot do is change an IMEI number, that would allow stolen phones to be used without trace. As far as unlocking, if t-mobile does it why can't I hehe.
