On my lab i have 4 microscopes, this is one of the warst microscope for mobile phones repairing. Working distance is too big and because of this, view is almost 2D and not 3D. I gave it as a gift after 1 month (250 euros to the garbage ).

i think microscpe not realy important but it can be realy usefull and helpfull.
and we can make usb microscope from usb WebCam and ofcourse we will see the object from the computer monitor/LCD with a big picture.
i will share how to make it if any one ask for it.

I use microscope for soldering and many times for diagnosis. You can see problems that you cannot see with eyes.

$150 is a lot of money but if it allows us to get more work done.... then worth it.

Set it up properly

Been using a microscope quite a while now. Find it invaluable. Only so many jobs you can do while straining your eyes. Using a digital microscope as it makes it easier to handle tools, soldering iron or hot air gun/lance whist keeping the piece in focus. Have the screen wall mounted at eye level, but not happy with this. Going to move it down, put it on an extended bracket at 45 degrees or so (make it adjustable) Have found through trial and error that the closer the screen is towhatever your working on the better. Easier you make it, better the success rate, more work, quicker, easier and less screw ups means more money at the end of the day!
