Is the GX30 cable the same as the GX15/Nec cable ?. I have used the USB NEC cable to unlock the GX15. not sure if it is the same cable as the GX30

You must use the serial cable or special made USB cable to unlock GX30 and TM100.
Schematic and connection diagram are in the RedBox support page.

gx30 tm100 unlock via serial cable
gx15 nec525 unlock with same cable usb (this cable is in box of e606 e808)
