Whats with all the secrecy? - GSM-Forum

I don't understand. This is GSM-Forum ( And a VERY good one if I may add) and there are tons of thoughts and lots of information being shared with everyone in here. As I have understood, that is the whole point with forums, to aid, to teach, to guide, etc.

Yet, there are still some "secrets" about certain software, certain techniques to how one unlocks phones. Why is this? Why don't people just share their wisdom and explain what software is used? Im not saying ppl have to send all this software back and forth to everyone ( timeconsuming & bandwidthconsuming ), but atleast explain what it is, what its called and maybe where it can be found. Wouldn't that in the end lower all there "plz send me", "plz email me", "plz unlock me", "plz gimme the ultimate key that does everything so I never have to work again in my life" etc.

But maybe I'm missing something. Maybe there is some unwritten rule about just this kind of software. I read something about a panasonic ghost server software. What is that? Does it alone give you the capabilities to unlock all locks on a panasonic phone?

Why do ppl offer to just calculate the code of a panasonic .log? Instead of just teaching the way to calculate it? Its a ****load of questions, and I'd love some answers. Maybe I'm missing something, maybe I don't understand the rules of engagement in this GSM-hacking-world. In either case, I'd like to know.

I have read the forum. But I still don't understand why people won't just say what the name of the script/software is. I mean they are offering to calculate the .log for free. Why not just tell everyone the name of the software. Im not demanding them to send it to everyone. Just share the information. The way the hacking communities work, sharing information.

As you yourself have posted, guys offer free advice and a free service sometimes, the details you want have been posted many times, yet you and so many people are to lazy to do a bit of work for yourself.

Share the info? Already done, many times.

Get off your own a*se and do a bit of work, not yet it seems.
