J.A.F. cables, home made...

i want to make some unlock cables for J.A.F. by Odeon, now i'm reseach a way to do this considering the phone pinouts...
i was wondering if someone has made at home a working cable ...
once i will have a cable for nokia 1110 for example, what risks i assume... is there a risk to kill forever that phone ?
