I dont know If Im the first one or not, I successfully bypassed the April Security Patched Nexus 5X on 6.0.1, I searched for 3 days and couldnt find any.

Yes, the soft brick was an accident as I was just trying models close in model number. Just use the second model I tested as that is the one that bypassed the FRP.

I tries using H968 and Z3X doesn't detect the phone. Are you saying you have to soft brick it first in order for it to work? After it soft bricked, you were still able to get into download mode?

Yes, hold PWR for 5-10 seconds and then Vol UP and plug cable, you have to be fast to catch it. (if your soft bricked)

Do you have the drivers installed? You can bypass the activation using this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuPIhiFZoaI

But that does not work on the new April security patch. If you can get access to settings and install drivers from Google, I also put it in fastboot mode and maybe that installed other drivers as well. Fastboot mode is hold VolUp/Dn and PWR, connect USB and see if it installs add'l drivers.

No, not soft bricked and yes, I have the latest security patch because all the online solutions don't work anymore. Don't think it's a driver issue and fastboot doesn't add any drivers. Not getting any ports to open.

Now that I remember, I also tried using the OTG method that blacked out the phone and when I plugged it in the PC it installed some Android driver that had an error, I then updated the driver manually and chose Android USB Device.

As I mentioned I tried so many things in a span of 2 days and before I tried the tool again I was ready to try a new firmware also. But then it bypassed and it fixed the soft brick (error I had was gco/recovery - abh)

Thanks for the info, I can only think it's a driver issue, shows up when started normally, but nothing in download mode. I reinstalled drivers, but no luck. If anyone has a suggestion, it would be welcomed.

Did you try the fastboot mode? See if you can get it recognized that way.

Yeah tried it all, still can't get a port to open. Three different PCs, same issue.

Do you mean in LG Tool after selecting H968? If so, yes, I tried but no dice. If I could open the port, I would be home free. I've seen thin on some other LG phones, but I was able to get around it because it they weren't locked. I have worked on tons of LG and Nexus phones, so not sure if there is a driver issue with this phone or if somehow you opened up something when you soft bricked. All i get is the timeout message but that makes sense because no ports are open.
