Am I out of luck with my 3Gs? - GSM-Forum

I got a 3Gs without a sim card. it was a great deal so I figured I could jailbreak and unlock as there was plenty info on it.

I found a guide from iclarified, followed it, and used redsn0w latest version. I first got TinyUmbrella to determine my version and baseband. So I had 4.2.1 and a bb of 5.15.04. So I ran redsn0w, install cydia, and choose upgrade to ipad bb 6.15 and activate. Everything went as the video showed me. However I am still stuck at emergency call screen. TinyUm shows that the bb updated to 6.15 and running 4.2.1 but didn't complete the hacktivation process.

I have read for hours and hours trying to figure out why, and how to fix it. But can't seem to find anything. I have even tried to restore a custom firmware with itunes but keep getting errors. have modified the hosts file and used TinyUm and started the tss server. Still no luck. So I am open to any suggestions, pretty frustrated at this point.

no need to panic, you need only to activatet your Iphone
so now it is jailbreaked,, and you dont have the original sim card of it.

just search here and down load "" iPhoneFolders.msi "" install it on winxp, and look after in your iphone root "" your iphone/ /private/var/root/Library/
and replace lockdown with one you can find here in this forum too, thats all,, restart your iphone and your iphone will be activated.

Big thanks for that bit of info Frake! Was even able to get the untethered jailbreak working after I got over that little bump in the road.
