if you want a software unlock(free unlock)
so you have to tell us more info about your phone go to
setting>general>about>scroll down and state you modem firmware
after that we will be able to help you

If you really wanna Downgrade so
put the device in recovery Mode(Search google how)
connect with itune and press and hold shift key of key board and click on restore a window will appear select 4.1 IPSW
and your device will downgraded
after downgrading download redsn0w0.9.6rc9 and browse 4.1
and press next and next now software ask you to select between option's
just tick install cydia and install ipad BB
and press next
Don't interrupt software..........See(#3)

If you want to jail break on 5.0 and want to unlock it so
download most update redsn0w0.9.9b8 and select jailbreak
then follow the instruction of software
at the one stage software ask you to chose between some option's

use ireb 4 for dfu mode then try to restore firmware 4.2.1

error 1015 no problem

use ireb for exit recovery

then use redsn0w_win_0.9.6b6 for install cydia and update bb to 06.15.00

use ultrasnow for unlock

after did this what i do in tinyumbrella
In TinyUmbrella there is an option in the "Advanced" tab to "Set Hosts to Cydia on Exit" uncheck this box cause This will allow iTunes to talk to Cydia's cache server rather than Apples cache server.
Try to restore.

Which firmware which you are trying to restore

apple is signing 4.1 and 5.0 for 3G[S]
and if you want to downgrade from 5.0 to 4.1 so please put the device in DFU or recovery mode and then restore the device

i did but all time i m facing error -3194

i downgrade from 5.0 to iPhone2_1_4.2.1_8C148a_Restore

some body told me this. is right?
Make sure it's not a 3GS though, because if it is, you'll go to iOS 5 and your baseband will be upgraded, making it impossible to downgrade to iOS 4.x and have a working phone. If it is a 3G, you'll get iOS 4.2.1, which is the final firmware for that phone.
