iphone 3g fail to upgrade

Hi all, i am new user here, hope anyone can help me with upgrading my iphone 3g fw 3.1.3 to 4.2.1 since as far as i know its the highest firmware version fir iphone 3g

i did all (that i know from internet and some of my friend's advices) that is necessary to do the upgrade.

for information, i am using iphone 3g white 16 GB
firmware : 3.1.3 (7E18)
Model : MC132J
Baseband : 05.11.07
Bootloader: 6.4_M3S2
carrier : carrier 5.1

i am using sn0wbreeze 2.2.1 to build custom ipsw file, and itunes 10.5.3 running on windows 7 64-bit.

everything starts smoothly until the iREB appears and ask to turn off the phone, to get into DFU mode, and when the phone already in DFU mode, its just blank, and the iREB running says "waiting for IBSS" and stucks there forever, unless i turn on my phone again by pressing home and sleep together for about 15-20 seconds.

i tried to shift+restore the firmware from itunes and it says file uncompatible. what should i do??
i already attached printscreens of all steps i have done in a zip file. Please help me. if any information i haven't given, just ask and i will try to post it again here.Thank you.

Hi,

upgrade the phone via iTunes. To ver. 4.2.1 . If you need to unlock it then, use Cydia + iPad baseband + ultrasnow via redsnow.

bro use download coustom firmware and restore with custom firmware. Must be need dfu mode for restore .100% tested.

it keeps saying the firmware is not compatible,

try it in dfu mode and recovery mode also...

any other suggestion what to check and do before i upgrade??
