juztin 06-25-2009 23:28

Solution:

1 - Update your itunes to the newest version
2 - Download the 3.0 firmware to somewhere on your computer
3 - Go to iTunes and restore the 3.0 OS (click on shift+restore)
4 - Once its done, use Redsn0w.

Follow the instruction from redsn0w...it should be fine

I had the same problem and this is what I did... works fine now

Good Luck

Try to update to 3.0 via itunes first and then restore the 3.0 you have on your computer via shift+restore

topaz02 06-26-2009 03:43

Use iTune 8.1 and restore to 2.21. After finished restoring to 2.21 use iTune 8.2 to restore to 3.0.

I dont think it would be the phone... I think this issue is fixable... I was playing around with mine for about 2 hours then it updated to 3.0.

Questions to ask:

1- Are you able to update automatically to 3.0 via iTunes?
(just by pressing on the update button)

2- Are you able to restore normally with iTunes?
(just by pressing on the restore button)

If not, are you on the old iTunes on the new one (ver.8.2.0.23)?

3 - Did you try to restore manually via shift+restore?

4 - Did you try to update manually via shift+update?

Try to restore manually with a 3.0 firmware...it will probably give you the error and it will ask you to restore. From there just click on the restore button. It should restore perfectly well. When the restore is done, now click on the update button...

Try to work it around...I am really sure that you can fix this

Dear All,

Let me tell you my experience with this error.
I unlocked around five iphone 3g with the same routine explained.
But there was one iphone gave me a really hard time

What I did ...
a . I tried that phone on various computers.
b. I used original computer.
c. Install / Re-install the latest itune from apple web site.
d. Simply restored the firmware.
e. Turned off all the firewall and any other blocking softwares.

But the OUTCOME was -ive.

Now can any one explained me.
What is the problem why I'm getting this stupid error.
I did checked the apple troubleshoting section and followed every
thing.

Quick and sensible replies are appreciated.

Regards,
K

I did the same way like you do.
- Use another computer
- Download ITunes from the MAlikk gave:
"Just Download From Here
http://www.apple.com/itunes/
And Restore Iphone Without Any Error"
- Download OS3 from ITunes.
- Upgrade & downgrade fimware & iTunes.

But nothing helps.
Before upgrade the IPhone is working well.
Is it still bugs from itunes or OS3?

Anybody have another solution?

dannyogolo 07-01-2009 18:39

i got error 14 and i found out that the ipsw file was somehow currupt. I found out bcos i used redsn0w could not verify it ok.
So I redownloaded another and redsn0w verified it ok, and then iTunes also flashed (restored ok with this new file and all was OK
