If you could connect it to the computer it normally syncs to, and it was synced after the passcode was set, then it would be able to restore without prompting for the passcode. If that computer is not available, or the passcode was set after the last sync, then the only thing you can do is put it in recovery mode and restore the latest backup you have. Either way, the latest backup you have is all you would get back. Everything on the phone is wiped in the process of restoring. FYI, if she had turned on iCloud backups, the phone should be automatically backing up to the cloud every night when it's in standby and connected to power and a WiFi network. |
