i9 engineer menu - now phone wont power on

hi,

I have just gone into the engineering menu using # codes from here. I was just looking at the settings but managed to select an option (the option said something like High Speed SIM) the phone immediately powered off and now wont switch on. I have I bricked the phone. Can it be recovered if so, does anyone know how?

Thanks

yes, it can be recovered.
You need a flash-cable and i think you need to format the userspace.
in anycase make a Backup before.

Thanks, I guess thats some good news. Do you know where I get a cable UK? I had a quick look on ebay and could only find a cable from HK.

If I can't get one local can I make a serial cable? or does it need some circuit in it to run with software?

No, i dont know any shops in the UK, , i bought mine from mysciphoneshop.com and it came from newzeeland and took about a month to arrive.
If you want to build a cable you need a RS232 to TTL adapter, so yes it is a bit more then a simple cable.

At moment I dont have software/box....I am looking for cheap recommendation as to what I need to buy or make to clear the HIGH SIM setting (that I selected when in engineering menu on a i9 3g iphone clone.)

Phone doesn't power on.

I purchased the phone from HK but live in UK so ideally I am looking to get or make the cable locally.

Thanks

I am also new to this hobby...
I am reading another post about flashing the phone.
I thought you can build the cable and use some software app to flash the phone. http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=808858

Maybe I don't know enough. Correct me if I am wrong.

Hi
I experimantaly bricked my own i68+ with highspeed sim.
all you need to do to fix it is fo format the FAT part of the firmware or to restore an earlier backup.
You dont need a box to do it but it helps
you can use many MTK flashtools with which i did it or spiderman versions that dont use a box.
