Are you sure what you phone really is? There are clones of clones out there. Then there is one actual sciphone version of the I68+ that physically has an I9 board inside but is flashed with the I68+ Version: 2.0 Build date: 9/15 firmware (like mine). This was done due to mfg board shortage. You can also tell by what color the dialed digits are.
White digits = normal board
Colored digits = I9 board.
The reason I mention this is because I read that the the phone connectors are different between the two. This may be your problem. DMARSTELLAR on the P168 Forum ran into the same problem as you seem to have.

What is your version?

If you don't know, from the keypad enter

*#8375#
(Press dial or send key if it doesn't show display after entering #)

Should display something similar:

[VERSION]
LS_I68_62025_128_A_V2.0
[BRANCH]: 62025
TELSDA25_07B
BUILD: BUILD_NO
SERIAL#: 0915xxxxxxx

10
[BUILD TIME]

My connector appears to be a L12C 1x12 pin connector.

maybe I can flash to the newer version if I had a copy of your V2?
also could I flash with the USB cable they sent me or do I need a serial cable to do this?

No, not as far as I know. The HiPhone will let you mod the usb cable to flash by connecting pin 12 to pin 4 at the phone connector end of cable (also a L12C), but I believe it is a spread spectum processor not MTK like ours. I'm working on the cable to flash. I just received my order for the L12C connectors and verified they are indeed the right ones for my version of the Sciphone I68+(colored digits). I will be testing for Rx/Tx so I can mod one of my flash cables. There are people out there that can already tell us this, but they will not share info. I can only think it must be a greed issue with them.

Thats sad. There are some people out there with the version 2 or higher on their phones.. it be great if they would flash their phone for a copy to help guys like my version 1 to update and really enjoy this phone.
I dont have the touch flow menu like I was expecting.. Im not even sure if this program version will let me run 8gigs like the i68+ are supposed to.
Oh and a bug I discovered while texting. Once the inbox got full it really started acting weird. I had to recalibrate the screen at least 4 times with resets following the recalibrating to get it working right. Otherwise I couldnt use the menu correctly or anything!
Dont let it reach 100 text messages
