iMate 9502 & 8502 WM 6.1 WWE Telstra 1.73 Rom



Hey guys,

Long time member, but first time poster . I got some good news for you iMate users out there. I was able to get the new WM 6.1 ROMs for both the iMate Ultimate 8502 and 9502, though I was told these were still considered beta ROMs. They are for the Australian market I assume as the Telstra logo displays on the boot up.

I've been using it on my 9502 for the past day or two and it seems to have fixed the following issues:

SDHC is supported now
MS Voice Command is working
GPS does not have to be turned on manually anymore
Camera program memory leak seems to be fixed. I will have to do more testing.

Ongoing issues:

Free Program Memory is still 33 MB after a hard reset


The ROM also seems to fix alot of software compatibility issue I was having. Like some of my SPB software that I normally use is now working without any freezes or heavy slowdown. It also seems to run a bit faster, especially when you slide out the keyboard. Anyways, give it a try. Hope this helps.

Hi I have upgraded from 6 to 6.1 from a ROM available from the IMate web site. Since then I am having heaps of issues with Telstra softwares.

I use Goodlink to access work emails etc. which is havong issues. I have also lost the 'My Place" which gives me access to foxtel etc.

Telstra says that they do not support 6.q and I have to downgrade. the issue is, there is no way that I can downgrade as no one (including IMate) does not seem to have the ROM for 6.0

PLEASE HELP.
